PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a separation apparatus preventing a material to be from a standstill at the second grain separating part of a shaking-off section and improving performances. SOLUTION: A thresher 1 is equipped with a shaking separation body 15 for shaking and separating the material to be treated supplied to a starting end side, a first screw 9 for recovering separated first grains, a second screw 12 for recovering separated second grains and a second returning thrower 14 for returning the second grains to one side of the starting end side of the shaking separation body 15. The shaking separation body 15 is equipped with a transportation plate 6 for transporting the material and the returned second grains supplied to the starting end side toward the end side and a first shaking- down separation part 16 for leaking down and separating the material and the returned second grains transported to the end of the transportation plate 6 by a plurality of fins 18 and 20 formed side by side at fixed intervals. The shaking separation body has an opening part 23 between the end part of the transportation plate 6 and the starting end part of the first shaking-down separation part 16 and the tailing return side of the opening part 23 is widely formed (a wide part 23a).
