PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an end face machining device of a pipe and its method that have high cutting efficiency providing high accuracy in pipe length. SOLUTION: In the end face machining device of the pipe for cutting both end faces of the pipe, a right end face machining machine 6 cuts the first one end face of a steel pipe 2 by a predetermined amount, a steel pipe length measuring machine 8 measures a position of the other end, a length of the steel pipe is calculated based on the position of the other end and the predetermined cutting amount, the calculated value is compared with a desired pipe length, a required cutting length of the end face machining machine is calculated, and the calculated cutting mount is indicated to the end face machining machine.
