PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve degree of design freedom of a body frame by providing the transmission shaft of a built-in transmission separately from a crankshaft. SOLUTION: The transmission 10 is a built-in multistage type, and the transmission shaft 11 is provided separately from the crankshaft 7. A swing arm 23 supporting a rear wheel WR is freely oscillatorily supported to a main frame 21 by an oscillation shaft 22. By placing the transmission 10 near the oscillation shaft 22, the oscillation of a chain 16 can be reduced. Since the oscillation shaft 22 is not necessarily required to be placed near the crankshaft 7, degree of design freedom is increased. The transmission shaft 11 is disposed forward of the oscillation shaft 22, which also contributes to reducing the rattle of the chain 16. COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO
