MICROCAPSULE AND METHOD FOR PRODUCING THE SAME

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing a sustained release microcapsule exhibiting sufficient sustained release property without using a thickening material, preventing the complication of the production of the raw materials and the process for the drug preparation and keeping high content of the main drug in the capsule. SOLUTION: A W/O-type emulsion is produced by using a solution containing a water-soluble drug as the inner water phase and a solution containing a polymer as the oil phase. The emulsion is dispersed in an outer water phase to obtain a W/O/W-type emulsion and the product is dried in liquid to obtain the sustained release microcapsule of the water-soluble drug. A water-soluble metal salt compound is added to the water phase to be used at or after the preparation of the W/O/W-type emulsion. COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO
