Process for treating excrements, waste and refuse from industrial, municipal and agricultural installations, thereby obtained products and apparatus therefor

Treatment of environmentally harmful organic products from animal waste, sewage sludge, industrial sludge or water treatment sludge to convert them into fertiliser comprises adding a solution of phosphorus pentoxide and potassium oxide to a solution of the organic product to give the required N:P:K ratio based on the nature of the soil and the type of application. The resulting solution is then mixed with a water-retaining product, to give the desired shaped and packaged fertiliser which is then desiccated. Also claimed is a means for continuous analysis of an aqueous dispersion of harmful ingredients, and for computerised treatment, allowing the calculation of the amount of each product to be injected into the dispersion, calculation being based on the desired N:P:K ratio.
