Preparation of Agar and Caldo based culture media comprises dissolving in distilled water of mixtures of salts, bacteriological peptone and yeast extract with and without bacteriological agar respectively. The resulting Agar TM and Caldo TM (TM denotes Tenacibaculum maritinum) isolate TM in sea water, and enrich samples and yield cellular material respectively.
