PURPOSE:To provide a terminal waterproofing structure of a flat cable which can reduce the number of part items because of its simple structure as well as secure waterproofness. CONSTITUTION:Circular packing 21 is provided around the overall periphery of the rear end of the exposed conductor portions 11 of a flat cable 10, and partition packing 22 is provided between the exposed conductor portions 11. Side end packing 23 is provided at each side end of the exposed conductor portion 11, and front-end packing 24 is provided at the end of the exposed conductor portion 11. When the flat cable 10 is inserted into the mating housing, the outer peripheral surface of the circular packing 21 presses against the inner wall surface of the housing, and the upper end face of the partition packing 22 presses against the inner wall surface of the housing. Also, the lower end face of the front-end packing 24 presses against the housing, and the side face and lower end face of the side end packing 23 press against the inner wall surface of the housing. It is thus ensured to prevent water and the like from entering the housing, securing the waterproofness of each exposed conductor portion 11. Further, the number of part items can be reduced since no special housing need be used. |
