PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve compressing step for a fiber bundle in a method which guides the fiber bundle in a draft mechanism of a spinning machine provided with compressing equipment for compressing the fiber bundle, by using suction element having suction silts and sucking air through a through hole to a compressing element via the suction element. SOLUTION: The length and/or width of the suction slits are varied according to the requirement of the spun yarn to be produced, and the fiber bundle is guided on more than one slits or guided more than one times on the same slit.
