PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an imaging device and system that can surely store an image desirably to be recorded without caring about the capacity of a memory and increasing the cost of the imaging device, easily manage data without trouble of managing a recording device such as a card and photograph an object without anxiety even in the case of disabled communication. SOLUTION: The imaging device is characterized in comprising: an image forming means that forms an image; a photoelectric conversion means that converts a formed image into an electric signal; an image processing means that processes image data converted into the electric signal; an internal recording device for storing the image data; a transmission means for transmitting the image data, a transmission propriety discrimination means that discriminates whether or not the image data can be sent; and a selection means that selects the transmission of image data by the transmission means when the transmission propriety discrimination means discriminates that the transmission is available or the storage of the image data to the internal recording device when the transmission propriety discrimination means discriminates that the transmission is not possible.
