<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To perform stable and efficient reading without adding an error correction code over and above what is wanted by making data reading errors almost constant regardless of the performance of an imaging part. <P>SOLUTION: The imaging part 20 images a code 12 from a recording medium with the code 12 from which data can be optically read, an image processing part 22 performs prescribed processing of an image including the imaged code, and a data reading part 26 reads the data from the processed image including the code. In such a case, the prescribed processing is such image processing which relieves performance change in the imaging part 20 so that data reading errors by the data reading part 26 may be almost constant, for example, processing that performs shading correction processing, equalization processing, binarization processing, coordinates conversion in each subframe or the like so as to relieve shading of a lighting system in the imaging part 20 and out-of- focus and distortion of an optical system in accordance with them. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO |
