<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for treating a solution of Co (cobalt) precipitates directly by a solvent extraction process, without using a deironization process. <P>SOLUTION: In a treatment method for dissolving the Co precipitates containing at least hydroxides of Co and Fe, with an acid, this method is characterized by dissolving a part of or substantially all of Co into a treatment liquid, while substantially leaving Fe in the precipitates as in solid state, by varying pH of the treatment liquid in a range of 0.5-3.0. The method preferably comprises adjusting the pH of the treatment liquid to 0.5-2.0, to dissolve Fe and Co into the treatment liquid, and then raising the pH of the treatment liquid to 2.0-3.0 to precipitate Fe. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO</p> |
