PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a car navigation device capable of surely guiding a vehicle at an intersection at which a course is to be changed and surely specifying the intersection at which the course is to be changed especially when two or more intersections exists adjacently in line. SOLUTION: A route guide means 111 determines whether an intersection adjacent to the intersection at which the course is to be changed exists in the front and the behind in a predetermined distance or not. When it is determined that any adjacent intersections exists, a road width Wn of the adjacent intersection existing in the nearest distance from the intersection at which the course is to be changed is calculated, and a road width Ws of the intersection at which the course is to be changed is calculated. The road width Wn of the adjacent intersection is compared with the road width Ws of the intersection at which the course is to be changed, and the vehicle course guidance is performed by a display device 104 or a speaker 105 in accordance with the comparison result.
