PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To allow a user to easily and quickly retrieve desired data in a portable terminal. SOLUTION: When indicating a start of fuzzy retrieval by a cellular phone 1, a CPU 2a acquires the whole range of user data being a retrieval object as a retrieval range from a storage part 5, and calculates the block number from the retrieval range, and also calculates the data number allocated to one block. The CPU 2a displays a retrieval starting position determining GUI capable of visually recognizing data on the retrieval range, the calculated block number, and a range allocated to the respective blocks on a display part 7. When selecting one block of the displayed retrieval starting position determining GUI, the data allocated to the selected block is displayed on a list from the forefront data as a display range.
