An endoprosthesis consists of a tubular sleeve (12) of a woven or knitted material and a tubular reinforcing layer (16, 18) to support it, connected to the sleeve by knotted filaments (22) passed through loops (26) located at intervals round the sleeve's outer surface. An endoprosthesis consists of a tubular sleeve (12) of a woven or knitted material and a tubular reinforcing layer (16, 18) to support it, connected to the sleeve by knotted filaments (22) passed through loops (26) located at intervals round the sleeve's outer surface. The connections are made at points of intersection between the filaments (16, 18) of the reinforcing layer, with the number of loops greater than the number of connecting points. The reinforcing layer is made e.g. from steel wires with a high limit of elasticity or from an injection-molded plastic mesh.
