It is intended to provide a polynucleotide which is produced by precursor adipocytes within 12 hours (in particular, about 6 hours) after the initiation of the induction of adipocyte differentiation, has at least a 93% identity with SEQ ID NO:1 and the same base sequence as SEQ ID NO:9 or a polynucleotide complementary to this polynucleotide; and a protein having the same sequence as the full-length protein represented by SEQ ID NO:2 or at least a 96% identity therewith, or the amino acid sequence represented by SEQ ID NO:10.
