The invention concerns the use, for making cooking utensils whereof one surface at least is PTFE-coated, and the other optionally enamelled, of aluminium alloy plates containing (in wt. %): Si 5-13 Fe<0.8 Mg<1 Mn<0.5 Cu<0.6 Zn<0.2 Ni<2 Ti<0.2 Cr<0.2 Zr<0.2, other elements <0.05 each and <0.15 in total.
