Disclosed is an awning having a fabric shaft which is rotated when the fabric of the awning is rolled up or unrolled in mountings, also encompassing a holding device in which the mountings are elastically supported in a first direction. The awning is characterized in that the mountings are also elastically and moveably supported in the holding device in a second spatial direction which is different from the first.
