PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a pair of shoes enabling the improvement of ventilation inside the shoes while retaining fundamental functions of shoes. SOLUTION: A recessed part 3 is provided on an outer sole 11 in a part of a sole of a foot, wherein a ventilation space 6 is formed by closing the recessed part 3 using an inner sole 12 having many communicating holes 8. The ventilation space 6 has many ventilation passages 7 which communicate with a plantar arch part 32 of the space. Ventilating holes 54 are provided on a recessed outer sole 31 in the plantar arch part 32 for communicating inside/ outside of the ventilation space 6. The ventilation passages 7 are formed by many ribs 4 which are arranged in standing conditions in a part generally excluding the plantar arch part of the recessed outer sole 31 so that they are generally as high as a depth of the recessed part 3, and the ribs 4 are arranged in standing conditions in a hound's-tooth check pattern in a plan view.
