<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an air bag mounting structure and an air bag mounting method allowing improvement of workability in mounting an air bag storing body to a vehicle and reduction of a manufacturing cost of a vehicle by reducing line man-hour. <P>SOLUTION: An instrument panel 5 is constituted freely so as to be divided into a lower panel 5b and an upper panel 5a having a lid part 3. The instrument panel 5 has an engaging part 9 and an engaging hole 10 for engaging the air bag storing body 2 and the lid part 3 and machine screw stopping holes 12 and 13 and a machine screw 14 for fastening and fixing the air bag storing body 2 and the lid part 3. When the air bag storing body 2 is mounted to the vehicle, in a fixed state of the air bag storing body 2 to a steering support beam 4, the lid part 3 is engaged with the air bag storing body 2 and the upper panel 5a is engaged with the lower panel 5b. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO</p> |
