PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for vacuum forming which can stabilize quality by making a bridge be formed at a regular position during molding and an apparatus for the method. SOLUTION: In the method and the apparatus 100 for vacuum forming, the bridge to be an excess part of a molding is formed during suction. When covered with a sheet, a rod-shaped body 35 for regulating at least the initial position of the bridge to be formed on an imaginary surface around the two protruded column bodies 33 of a vacuum forming mold 30 is formed in advance. The heat-softened sheet S is set to hold the column bodies 33. By evacuating the mold 30, the sheet is adhered to the molding surface of the mold, the excess parts of the sheet are stuck to each other to hold the rod-shaped body, the stuck sheet is cooled and hardened, and the molding is obtained while the bridge is formed at the regulated position by the rod-shaped body.
