PURPOSE: Provided is a secondary battery having safety product using swelling phenomenon, which has so improved structure as to completely block a current and prevent a breakage of battery, in conformity with swelling degree when the battery is overcharged. CONSTITUTION: The battery(20) comprises a battery part(21) which is formed by winding a cathode plate, a separator and an anode plate; a can(22) which supplies a space for accepting the battery part(21); a cap assembly(23) connected to the top of the can; and a safety product(30) which is positioned at outer surface of the can, is electrically connected to any one electrode of the battery part, and is deformed to block a current when swelling. The safety product is a plurality of current breakers of metal thin plate which are fixed on outer surface of the can.
