<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a piezoelectric actuator that can generate a large amount of expansion/contraction displacement and flexion displacement, and that has superior controllability. <P>SOLUTION: The piezoelectric actuator 10 is provided with sheet-form piezoelectric materials 11a, 11b placed substantially in parallel, an electrode sandwiched between the piezoelectric materials 11a, 11b, electrodes 13a, 13b provided independently on the surface of the piezoelectric material 11a, an electrode 14a provided on the surface of the piezoelectric material 11b so that it faces the electrode 13a, and an electrode 14b provided on the surface of the piezoelectric material 11b so that it faces the electrode 13b. The section sandwiched by the electrode 13a and the electrode 14a is an expansion/ contraction displacing section 15a and the section sandwiched by the electrode 13b and the electrode 14b is a flexion displacement section 15b. The expansion/ contraction displacement of the expansion/contraction displacement section 15a and the flexion displacement of the flexion displacement section 15b is utilized to generate elliptic movement at a drive end. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO |
