<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for controlling the traction for a vehicle which does not give a sense of discomfort to a driver when travelling a down slope. <P>SOLUTION: A vehicle comprises a generator (3) connected to an internal combustion engine (1), a battery (17) or capacitor, and a motor (4) which drives a drive wheel. Based on the detected operation amount of an accelerator pedal and a target driving force calculated from a vehicle speed, the motor is controlled.
