PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To cool contents contained in a container sanitarily, inexpensively and efficiently. SOLUTION: A cooler 1 for cooling contents contained in a container deposits a mist-state a cooling medium over the surface of the container 5 and vaporizes the cooling medium to absorb a quantity of heat corresponding to the heat of vaporization of the cooling medium from the contents, which are thus cooled.
