PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an intercommunication system by which wiring is saved and functions can easily be expanded by transmitting information such as video information, voice information by a plurality of channels through the same signal line of a local network. SOLUTION: When transmitting each piece of information on video or audio, a lobby interphone 1 generates a communication start request command by a control part 100 and transmits it by an IP protocol to GK/GW equipment 8. The GK/GW equipment 8 retains band information such as an IP address and a using band quantity of the lobby interphone 1 to a storage part 81 upon reception of a communication start request command, and transmits a communication start response command by a digital multiplex packet based on an IP protocol. Upon receipt of the communication start response command from the GK/GW equipment, the lobby interphone 1 writes a destination IP address to a destination header and thereafter transmits each information of video and audio by the digital multiplex packet based on the IP protocol.
