LANCE POSITION DETECTING DEVICE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device for accurately detecting a relation in the positions between a lance nose and an upper part of a molten body, without depending on a blast pressure of a lance. SOLUTION: This device comprises a lance elevating means 2 for raising and lowering the lance 1 in a furnace for smelting metal, and a computing means 3 for measuring the rising and lowering time of the lance to compute the position of the lance, and can initialize the position of the lance in an arbitrary timing. The above lance elevating means preferably raises and lowers the lance in the furnace for smelting metal at fixed velocity. COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO
