<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the relaxation of a magnetic tape when it is loaded in a tape drive in which the magnetic tape loaded in a tape cassette is driven to roll it round a take-up reel embedded in the drive. <P>SOLUTION: A ring cam driven by a mode motor controls the hitch between a supply reel motor and a supply reel in the cassette and the motion of a buckle which hitches the rolled leader tape round the take-up reel to the supply leader tape of the magnetic tape. The ring cam has first and second arc-shaped sheltering plates at different angle positions on a circumference around the rotary shaft. A first and second optical switches each are arranged so that they may straddle the first and second arc-shaped sheltering plates, respectively, and a detecting signal corresponding to the rotation angle position of the ring cam is outputted. A controlling device is driven to rotate the mode motor when the tape cassette is loaded and then controls the stop and rotation of the mode motor according to the detecting signal. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO</p> |
