PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce complications in obtaining a fading coefficient of a multi- path transmission channel route. SOLUTION: First estimation of the fading coefficient of a multi-path transmission channel is determined by the maximum likelihood method. A set of Wiener filter coefficients are stored according to predetermined speed of movement of a mobile terminal and predetermined power level of a signal. The real speed of the mobile terminal is estimated and the power of the signal for each path is measured. Thereafter, from the estimated movement speed and the measured signal power, a set of the Wiener filter coefficients are derived with which the first estimations are filtered to obtain the final estimation of the fading coefficient.
