PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To connect a motor base supporting a spindle motor and flexible wiring by a support means to support the motor base, and to avoid a Hall element and other electronic components having a weakness for static electricity used for controlling the spindle motor from being broken by high voltage such as static electricity even when a spindle motor is struck by a high voltage. SOLUTION: The disk drive unit is provided with a spindle motor 23 which rotates and drives an optical disk D, a conductive motor base 36 which supports the spindle motor 23 and on which a Hall element for controlling the rotation of the spindle motor 23 is mounted, and flexible wiring 41 which connects electrically the spindle motor 23 and the power source side. The flexible wiring 41 is provided with an earth wire 41c, and the earth wire 41c and the also the motor base 36 are conducted by a conductive coil spring 39 supporting the motor base 36.
