PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a jumper wire guide member, which forms surely and quickly a jumper wire with a simple structure, and reduces the manufacturing cost of a multi-pole armature or the like, and a winding machine using the jumper wire guide member. SOLUTION: A nozzle 3 and the jumper wire guide member 90 are united and moved in an approximately horizontal direction within a recessed part 40a of a work holding device 40 at the underside of a work 6, when winding to one of poles C by the nozzle 3 is finished. As a result, a wire material guide part 92 of the jumper wire guide member 90 is moved in the radial direction of the work 6, and a support wall 93 of the wire material guide part 92 is positioned outside a jumper-wire pin 6b. Then, the nozzle 3 and the jumper wire guide member 90 are integratedly raised. As a result, the support wall 93 of the wire material guide part 92 is stopped at a position overlapped with the jumper-wire pin 6b in the thickness direction of the work 6.
