The arrangement has a device (11) for user logon and/or authentication, a device (12) for acquiring or entering data by the user, a device (13) for storing the acquired data in a database (30) and a device (14) for logging off from the system (20) by the user. The logon and/or authentication device and the device for entering or acquiring data can be activated by a single mask. AN Independent claim is also included for a method of acquiring data for placement in a database via data communications system using masks.
