An AGC detector is described, with an input for supplying an input signal, particularly a CVBS signal, an output for supplying a control signal and a device for generating the control signal, which changes the control signal in one direction when the input signal complies with a predetermined property, and changes the control signal in the other direction with a first time constant when the input signal does not comply with the predetermined property. The particular aspect of the invention is that the generating device changes the control voltage in the other direction after the end of a predetermined delay interval with a second time constant which is smaller than the first time constant, when the input signal does not comply with the predetermined property during a period which is longer than the predetermined delay interval. |
