PROCESS FOR ALKYLATION OF AN ALKOXYLATED MONO DI, TRI OR POLYHYDRIC COMPOUND

A process for alkylation yielding a mono, di, tri or polyalkyl, alkenyl or alkynyl ether of an alkoxylated mono, di, tri or polyhydric compound. The process comprises that at least one alkoxylated mono, di, tri or polyhydric compound, at least one reduction agent, at least one alkylation precursor, at least one alkaline catalyst and optionally at least one solvent are charged to a reaction vessel and mixed and that obtained reaction mixture under stirring is heated, optionally in steps or gradually, to a temperature of 30−180°C or to reflux temperature and maintained until said alkylation is completed. In a further aspect the present invention refers to the use of a mono, di, tri or polyallyl or methallyl ether yielded in said process.
