Disclosed is a DRL (Daytime Running Lamp) control unit for turning on external lamps of a vehicle running in the daytime. The DRL control unit including a startup detector for detecting the startup of a vehicle, a lamp signal input section for receiving a manual manipulation signal of a lamp, and a controller being started up on the basis of output signals of the startup detector and the lamp signal input section, and turning on a DRL for a predetermined period of time at which a lamp is not manually operated, further includes: a first lamp manipulation detector for detecting whether a first lamp is turned on by a manual turn−on operation of a driver; a second lamp manipulation detector for detecting whether a second lamp is turned on by a manual turn−on operation of a driver; and a signal selector for selecting one of the first lamp turn−on signal of the first lamp manipulation detector and a second lamp turn−on signal of the second lamp manipulation detector, and transmitting the selected one to the lamp signal input section. Therefore, the DRL control unit satisfies various kinds of DRL control methods differently used in each of all countries.
