The engine disabling device has an onboard device which receives an authorization signal from a finger pressure sensor (5) integrated in an engine starter switch (3), e.g. a wiper switch, to allow the engine disabling device to be deactivated. An insertion slot for an authorization element (8), e.g. a vehicle access card, for overriding the engine disabling device, may be provided adjacent the starter switch.
