<p>Copolymers (I) are used as dispersants in lacquers and printing inks or for the production of aqueous pigment concentrates. (I) comprise 10-90 mole-% units of half esters of unsaturated dicarboxylic acids and/or units of unsaturated dicarboxylic anhydrides or imides, 1-89 mole-% units of oxyalkylene glycol or polyalkylene oxide alkenyl ethers and 0.1-10 mole-% units of other unsaturated comonomers. Copolymers (I) based on oxyalkylene glycol or polyalkylene oxide alkenyl ethers and unsaturated dicarboxylic acid derivatives are used as dispersants in lacquers and printing inks or for the production of aqueous pigment concentrates. (I) comprise 10-90 mole-% units (IIA) of half esters of unsaturated dicarboxylic acids and/or units (IIB) of unsaturated dicarboxylic anhydrides or imides, 1-89 mole-% units (IIIA, IIIB) of the alkenyl ethers and 0.1-10 mole-% units (IVA, IVB) of other unsaturated comonomers, of the formulae: M = H, a metal cation, ammonium or organic amine group; X = -OMa, -O-(CmHlmO)n-(CmHlmO)o-R<1>NHR<2> and/or -NR<2>2 or Q<1>N-Q<2>-NQ<3>Q<4>, optionally oxidized to -Q<1>N-Q<2>-N(+)O(-)Q<3>Q<4>; S = H, -COOMa or -COOR<5>; T = -U<1>-O-(CmHlmO)n-(CmHlmO)o-R<6>, or -W-R<7>; U<1> = -CO-NH-, -O- or -CH2O-; W = -(Si(CH3)2-O)r-Si(CH3)2-; l = 1 or 2; m = 2-18; n, o = 0-100; p, t = 0-3; q = 0-6; r = 2-100; a = 1; or a = one half if M = a divalent metal ion.</p> |
