PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an aquaculture system capable of responding to an abrupt change of number of fishes and shellfishes or feeding amount without enlarging a nitrification vessel and a denitrification vessel. SOLUTION: This circulating aquaculture system comprises removing nitrogen components such as ammonia in seawater in a culturing vessel 1 for fishes and shellfishes from the circulated seawater through a circulation route 2. In this system, a nitrification vessel 3 and an equalizing vessel 5 having an anode 4 of electrodes for electrolysis of the seawater are integrated into the circulating route 2 in this order based on flow direction and a denitrification vessel 7 having a cathode of the electrodes for the electrolysis of the seawater is set between the nitrification vessel 3 and the equalizing vessel 5, wherein the nitrification vessel 3 comprises a fluidized bed obtained by stirring and fluidizing a carrier adhered with nitrifying bacteria and the denitrification vessel 7 comprises a fixed bed of a carrier adhered denitrifying bacteria and left to stand.
