APPARATUS FOR CLAMPING WORKPIECE AND CARRIAGE HAVING THE SAME

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an apparatus for clamping a workpiece, which has a simple structure and is driven from the outside. SOLUTION: A workpiece rest 2 having a locating pin 6 at a tip end thereof is provided in a case 1. A clamping arm 9 is built in inside the locating pin 6. The case 1 is provided with a slider 16 composed of an outer slider 17 and an inner slider 18. The clamping arm 9 is connected to a grooved cam 29 via an intermediate rod 7 and a pin 31. The outer slider 17 is connected to a screw 15 for clamping and unclamping operation, which is driven by external driving means. The clamping force finally applied to the clamping arm 9 depends on a compression coil spring 25 inserted between the outer slider 17 and the inner slider 18. COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO
