PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a strong coloring object without using a solvent. SOLUTION: An object 50 to be colored in which a hard coat layer 54 and a metal layer 55 are formed on the surface of a substrate 52 comprising resin is left in a vacuum atmosphere to discharge pigment vapor so that a coloring layer 56 is deposited on the surface of the metal layer 55. Then, a top coat layer 57 is formed on the surface of the coloring layer 56. Since a pigment is heated and the pigment vapor is discharged into the vacuum atmosphere, a solvent is not required.
