PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for conveying rods for suspending sausages, enabling a both of the discharge and feed of the rods forming sausage loop and performing either appropriate one of the operations and a apparatus therefor. SOLUTION: This apparatus 1 for conveying a rod 10 for hanging a sausage 9, includes a hook 4 with a narrow part 4C and a rod supporting member 11 for disposing the rod 10 under the narrow part 4C, and also includes a rod conveyor 16 provided with a discharging rod holding means 18 for holding the rod 10 received from the rod supporting member 11 and a feed rod holding means 19 for holding the rod 10 to the rod supporting member 11 and a rod conveying means 6 having a rod conveyor driving means 17 by a reciprocating motion of the rod conveyor 16.
