PURPOSE: An apparatus for generating automatically a lookup table for temperature compensation according to a variation of a reference voltage of an A/D converter of an industrial instrument and a controlling method thereof are provided to enhance the accuracy of the lookup table by using the reference voltage and a surrounding temperature value. CONSTITUTION: A sensor signal input portion(10) receives a sensor measuring signal, a surrounding temperature signal, and a voltage signal for generating a lookup table. A reference voltage generation portion(20) generates a reference voltage. An A/D conversion portion(30) converts an analog signal to a digital signal. A memory(40) is used for storing programs and data. A control portion(50) generates automatically the lookup table and compensates a variation of temperature according to the reference voltage. A display portion(60) displays a state of operation. A D/A converter(70) converts the digital signal to the analog signal. A digital communication interface(80) performs a communication with the outside. A voltage generator(90) is used for applying the voltage. A setup portion(100) controls and manages all operations to form the lookup table.
