PURPOSE: A clamping device for carrying LCD substrates is provided to secure a sufficient space between clamping elements and glass substrates before securing the glass substrates and keep fine clearances between them after securing the glass substrates, thereby reducing the deviation of the substrates out of the clamping elements caused by non-precise positioning of the glass substrates. CONSTITUTION: A clamping device for carrying LCD substrates includes main arms(1) movably connected to a driving shaft of a carrying unit and disposed in parallel to each other, and a plurality of L-shaped clamping elements(21) mounted on top surfaces of the main arms to pivot with respect to hinge shafts(22) thereof and secured with corners of glass substrates(3) to support. The clamping elements are kept as being spread out outward when the substrates are not secured. As the substrates are secured, the clamping elements are inclined toward the substrates for supporting the substrates.
