PURPOSE: A device of managing an ATM connection identifier is provided to unlimitedly receive PID(Physical port Identifier)/VPI(Virtual Path Identifier)/VCI(Virtual Channel Identifier), and to store connection identifier information in a storage, then to configure the connection identifier information in tree structure having 3 nodes as children, thereby quickly expanding a tree. CONSTITUTION: A storage(31) stores connection identifier information. A connection identifier processor(33) extracts a PID, a VPI, and a VCI from ATM cells received from a physical layer interface(20), searches the connection identifier information corresponding to the extracted PID, the VPI, and the VCI, if the ATM cells are user cells, and outputs the searched connection identifier information and the ATM cells. A controller(32) extracts the PID, the VPI, and the VCI of the received ATM cells, and generates the connection identifier information by inserting or deleting the extracted PID, the VPI, and the VCI into or from the storage(31).
