PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enhance reliability and safety of a common rail type fuel injection system by making a control content of fail/safe to a different content from that at the time of abnormality of the system in the case where a removal of the fuel is generated by valve-opening of a pressure limiter. SOLUTION: An entrance flow rate control valve becomes a mechanically or electrically full open abnormality and a supply pump becomes an excess pressurization feeding (whole amount pressurization feeding). An actual common rail pressure (Pc) exceeds a limitation set pressure and a removal of the fuel caused by a valve-opening of the pressure limiter is generated. In the above case, since the calculated leak amount of fuel is more than a second determined value and an abnormal high pressure history memorizing flag (XPCMEM) is set to 1, the valve-opening of the pressure limiter is detected by a leak detection logic (PL operation detection). In this case, a fail-safe such as a restriction of an engine output is executed such that the vehicle is made to retreat-travel (limp home). |
