PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the service life of a tension band 1 resulting from cracking by restraining fusion wear to canvas layers 20, 21 on the top and bottom surfaces of the tension band 1 in a V-belt B for high-load transmission formed by anchoring a plurality of blocks 7, 7,... on the tension bands 1, 1, to improve the service life of the block 7 resulting from breakage, and to minimize a noise change with time by eliminating the diagonal movement of the block 7 and maintaining a tightening allowance d2-d1 without wearing the block 7. SOLUTION: The canvas of the canvas layers 20, 21 is formed into an aramid canvas 22 of which the lengthwise yarn of the belt is made of aramid fiber. A coating rubber layer 23 is provided which prevents the aramid fiber of the canvas 22 from being brought into direct contact with the block 7, on the side where the canvas layers 20, 21 come into contact with the block 7.
