<p>A method of stabilising a zone of rock (6) using a tubular rock bolt (10). An assemblage (26), including reservoirs containing a multi-component reactive adhesive system (30) and a static mixer (28), is placed in the bore (24) of the rock bolt (10). A force is applied, preferably by plunging an elongate member (40) into the bore (24), to propel the reactive components through the mixer (28), whereby the components become intimately mixed and propelled out through the leading end (20) of the rock bolt (10), to then flow back along the hole (8). The adhesive is allowed to set, preferably with the bolt (10) pressed hard against the rock face (4). A cartridge (50) may be inserted into a tubular rock bolt at the time of installation and which contains reservoirs of reactants (30), a static mixer (28) and a device (31) for puncturing the reservoirs (30) at a preferred position.</p> |
