PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image pickup device that prevents a recording disabled state due to impossible file generation from being suddenly produced independently of the presence of an idle capacity in a recording medium, informs a user about it in advance, and provides how to cope with it so as to improve the user-friendliness and to provide a warning method for file storage, a computer- readable storage medium, and a program. SOLUTION: A control means 302 of an electronic still camera calculates the number of creatable files on a recording medium 400 on the basis of file storage standards, calculates the number of recordable files in the recording medium 400 on the basis of the residual capacity of the recording medium 400, compares both numbers of files, selects the number of files which is smaller, allows a display means 303 to display it as the number of imaging available sheets, applies control of alerting it, makes warning in the result of comparison and controls the display means 303 to display the way to cope with it. |
