PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical servo track forming/cleaning device suitable for obtaining a magnetic tape where the occurrence of dropout or the like caused by unnecessary power sticking is difficult. SOLUTION: This device is provided with a feeding mechanism part for feeding a wound magnetic tape in a predetermined direction, an optical servo track forming part for irradiating the surface of the backcoat layer of the fed magnetic tape with a laser beam to form an optical servo recess, a cleaning part for cleaning the surface of the backcoat layer after the formation of the recess, and a winding mechanism part for winding the magnetic tape after the cleaning. The cleaning part is provided with a CO2 spraying part for spraying solid CO2 on the optical servo recess formed by the laser beam irradiation and its periphery, a suction part for sucking the combustion wastes in the optical servo recess and the periphery blown off by the solid CO2 spraying, and a wiping-off part for wiping the surface of the backcoat layer after the suction of the combustion wastes.
