PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a secondary battery capable of preventing a twist of an electrode group caused by the expansion-contraction of electrodes at charging-discharging time, and superior in the cycle service life. SOLUTION: This plate-like secondary battery covers the electrode group having a flat cross-sectional shape with an enclosing material by winding belt- like laminated bodies by successively laminating the positive electrode, an electrolyte layer, and the negative electrode, and is arranged so as to form a void part between the two belt-like laminated bodies mutually adjacent on the major axis of a right-angled directional cross section to the winding axis of the flat electrode group. This manufacturing method of the plate-like secondary battery is characterized by manufacturing the plate-like secondary battery by sealing the electrode group in the enclosing material by a process of forming the electrode group having the flat cross-sectional shape by pressing the belt-like laminated bodies after cylindrically winding the belt-like laminated bodies, interposing a separator between the positive electrode and the negative electrode, sandwiching a spacer between the adjacent belt-like laminated bodies, followed by a process of impregnating a nonaqueous electrolyte into this electrode group, and a process of extracting the spacer. |
