PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve reliability of a fuel cell stack by surely detecting a deficiency of hydrogen in the fuel cell stack. SOLUTION: This fuel cell stack 10 is formed by laminating first cells 80 via separators 13. Second cells 84 are arranged one by one in the respective first cells 80 integrally with these first cells. Both the first cells 80 and the second cells 84 constitute a solid high polymer electrolyte fuel cell. In the fuel cell stack 10, the first cells 80 are connected in series by the separators 13. While, the respective second cells 84 are electrically insulated from the separators 13. Gas after contacting with a hydrogen electrode 83 of the first cells 80 is sent into the hydrogen electrode 87 side of the second cells 84. |
